Default transfer HO parts to 83 block?

will a 1983 302 block that used standard hydraullic lifters accept 1987 hydraullic roller lifters?..My 87 HO block is no good so i kept the heads and had them rebuilt, i have a stage one cam from trickflow and my old pistons and crank from the HO..will there be a problem transfering the HO parts to the 83 block?...thanks guys and gals

The only problem you're going to run into is the lifters.... You will need to use conversion lifters, or have the lifter bores drilled out and press fitted with bronze bushings tall enought to accomodate the factory hr lifters. You will also have to drill an tap the holes for the spider hold doen bolts in the lifter valley.

Check out the aftermarket, too. I think comp cams sells a drop-in kit to convert a non-roller block to roller lifters. I'm pretty sure it's easier than retrofitting the OEM setup.
