1970 351W heads on a 1991 LX 5.0

Folks, I'm new to the 5.0 stuff. Just bought a 1991 LX with no mods. My question: Will the old 351 Windsor heads work on a 5.0? I have a set with roller rockers that have been ported.

Yes, they will. You will need washers or inserts for the head bolts, as the Windsor uses 1/2" bolts compared to the 7/16" on the 302. You can get the inserts from FRPP, Edelbrock, TFS, and ARP.

Thanks for the advice. This 91 LX has 289 rods with 350 chev pistons. The builder of the engine said he was looking for a flat torque curve. Ran 8.60 in 1/8 mile with the stock heads. I'm not sure if this is good. I'm planning on putting the 351 heads on to improve performance.
