Default EFI to CARB

ok im sure you have all heard this question asked a million times but i really need to know. i am wanting to convert my mustang to carbureted and i have sometype of clue on how to do it but i want to hear it from somebody that did this conversion on what parts they used and want it is really going to take to convert this thing to carbureted.
and by parts i mean what type of carb and intake, what they did about regulating the fuel and how the got spark after getting fid of the EFI dist. also another worry of mine is the throttle cable how did they make that work in there favor. So any input you carb enthusist have towards my question would be greatly appreciated

On the cable, you'll need a new one. If you get one off a Stang, make sure it has purple marking (paint splotch) on it, the gold ones are for two barrels(they'll work on a 4 barrel, but eventually break). Parts stores may have 'em(probably junk, but it will get you by) by now - they didn't in the late '90s. If you're doing this on a budget, find any late '70s-mid '80s carbed 302/5.0, and get the dizzy, and the ignition box, along with the harness which runs between them. Duraspark II is a pretty good ignition, and if I'm not mistaken, utilizes a capacitive discharge. If you're gonna race, get a Holley. Edelbrock carbs are good for troublefree street use.

I'm hoping to gain less of a headache converting my '81 3.3L Into a 5.0L.
The EFI engines have the most power stock from all the fox bodies. I want
to start building from the best start and don't want all the headache of wiring
and a computer when my car has none of that to begin with. Now I don't understand why some people would switch from EFI to Carb If their car was
already EFI. I guess some people figure you can get more power out of a carb than EFI. lol!

Cool - that explains a lot. I didnt realize your vehicle wasnt already EFI - I took "convert my mustang to carbureted" to mean it was already EFI.
