For those of you that don't know. I just finished installing the motor back into the car. Everything has been overhauled or replaced. I went to start it for the first time and it ran for about a minute then cut off. The fuel pressure read about 9 psi then as soon as the pressure read 0 it shut off.
I checked the fuel filter and the fuel is yellow. Does that mean the tank needs to be dropped and cleaned? I thought maybe there is something floating around and it got cought int eh sock that covers the sending unit. Has anyone run into this problem before? Do I have to drop the tank to get to the sending unit? On the front side towards the bottom is where are the lines are coming out. Is that it? I'd really like to NOT have to drop the tank to fix the issue. Any sudgestions?
I'm so close to actually being able to drive the thing...ha.

So I've been looking around and can't find a fuel pick up. I called Ford and they said it is no longer being made. Then I tried all the local auto parts stores and they can't get it either. Any recomendations? Shy of paying 200 to have mine rebuilt, I'm screwed.

its a car you are never screwed only chalenged and yes that is yoour pick up tube jack up the car and get a big bucket and spin the retainer and the sending unit will come loose "you might have to use a hammer and a flat head screw driver to get it out but when you do just use your best judgment on how to fix the problem
wich is probably a clogged screen factory part p o s just cut it off and add about 4 inches of line to the inside

unless you have rust in the tank then you will have to drop the tank

i dont know if the 90s have Fuel pump relay but my 94 mustang has a Safty Switch in the back that trips some times if you Fuel pump gets ina bind never had a prob in my 92 you sould also check and make sure that yout fuel pump is geting power back there before you do all that i would just diconect the Fuel line form them pump to the filter just a Thought
It could also be a fart i held in to long and became a bad ideal but who knows
Ha...thanks guys. Im leaving right now to take a look at it. Luckly I only put about 6 gallons in the tank so it should be that bad getting all of it out. Where can I get the screen? It it somethgin special? And what are you talking about when you say just add 4 inches of line to the inside? Are you saying to forget about the screen?
Has anyone had any luck with a home made screen? I'm assuming it nothgin really special?
God, I hope the tank isn't rusted. At hat point I'll just pay someone to clean it for me. That's gotta be a pain...right?
