Re: 1.7 rockers w/Edelbrock Performer Heads The 1.7 rockers should not be a problem. Was the engine rebuilt? The reason I ask is, if the engine block was re-surfaced where the heads meet the block or if a larger cam was put in, it may get close.
If in doubt you can always check the valve clearence to the top of the pistons by doing a clay test. This is done by putting clay in the number 1 cylinder and bolting the head on with the proper torque setting. This include the gasket. put the value assembly together for just that one cylinder and then turning over the engine. then pulling the head and check the valve impression made in the clay on of the piston. |
