Also i have a crackling(??) sound coming from my exhaust whenever i get on it? any ideas? also the car is hesitating when I take off I believe my valve coversa are leaking and may be leaking into my plugs, but I heard this also could be a coil problem?? any help would be great sorry about all the ???? just trying to join the elite stanger world !!! as far as the cats go, i must first say that removal of a cat is illegal.
if you dont want to cut it and bolt some pipe in its place, or get an offroad x-pipe, you can unbolt it right behind the cats and ram a broom handle up there and it will break it... its like porcalein but its thin ... then when youve made a big hole start the engine and it will blow it all out. but like i said, this is illegal and i wouldnt know how you go about it.

1fast90gt, welcome to the board! you might want to look at a high flow cat h-pipe, more power and you do not have to worry about breaking the law!

see if where you are has emissions, if not, then get a new pipe, guttin a cat is pretty old school and sloppy. its roughly 150 bucks for an offroad H pipe without cats and bolts right up. sounds real rumbly with flowmasters or you can get an x pipe which flows slightly better into a set of free flowing mufflers like magnaflows or borla which would give you some more HP than the previously mentioned setup. and since you just bought it, make sure you do a good tune up on it! Heres the tech article on AFM which covers most everything a tune up should include > http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/58.shtml

1fast90gt,

After your tune up, remove the air silencer in the fenderwell and add a K&N filter. If not done already, check/set the timing.

If your going to gut your cats anyways, remove your smog pump and throw on some March underdrives. My 5.0 really liked the off road pipes with the shortbelt , underdrives etc.
