Default Modding the ford motorsports crate 302?

I've noticed alot of Stangers talking about this engine the 340 bhp/ 340 torque engine from ford motorsports. I understand this engine does not take well to mods, is this true? The price is good, and the power is ok i was wandering how she would react to a blower or a 100 shot of nitrous. Hmm does anyone have this engine with mods?

The 340 HP crate engine uses HYPEREUTIC pistons (9:1 compression), not the best for a supercharged application, but you can use one at low boost levels (9-12psi) with the right tune. If you want more, then at least upgrade to forged pistons.

As far as the crate not taking well mods...that sounds like bull, but what mods exactly. That crate is almost like a Cobra 5.0, except for the heads and valvetrain.
