Default Cam Lift Question

Im searching for a cam and was recommended this by crane. http://www.cranecams.com/index.php?s...21&lvl=2&prt=5. Is .533/.544 too much lift?I want a mild cam with a smooth sounding idle, maybe slightly lopey sounding, and an all around powerband. What is the maximum lift to maintain acceptable piston
clearance? Im in the process of a h/i/c swap.
WHAT ARE YOU GUYS RUNNING AND HOW DO U LIKE YOUR CAM SETUP?

i am running a lunati #51014, good power 2000-6000rpm, lopey idle, and good for superchargers. i believe the lift you are looking at is a little too much for stock pistons, bigger is not always better, once over .500 on stock pistons it gets iffy, pick a cam that works well with your setup. if you are doing h/c/i all at once its a perfect time to talk to a manufacturer and match all components, holley sells kits, trick flow, ford racing, etc. shop around
