Question What Differential is best?

I know there is alot of opinion about this.. but.. instead of just buying a used one i figured i'd go ahead and upgrade my ruined one. My question... if my car will make about 400hp-500 (w/ nos)... (until turboed... but that comes well later), what street/strip differential would you guys recommend for the money.. i want the best bang for the buck - given it may see a track once a month or so...? any help is appreicated - i'd like to spend under 500... well under if possible - it is a daily driver... keep that in mind - thanks guys/gals -
-Also would the FRPP trac-lok work fine? just wondering b/c its so much cheaper...

The Ford Tloc works fine for the street and ocassional 1/4 even with 400hp.

If you want bulletproof performance Auburn or Eaton posi's are great.
I have 625 RWHP using an auburn posi, zero problems.

There's a guy on ebay selling Torsen T2 posi units. I bought one (there new). CHEAP 225 bucks. These things retail for up to 500. The torsen is similar to the eaton/auburn- they use worm gears instead of clutches

I remember Joe DaSilva once telling me that the Ford 31 spline unit was good into the 10.50 range. The only issue I see with the Auburn is that it isn't rebuildable and mine definately wasn't, came apart on a 5K 150 shot launch, sent schrapnel into orbit. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't get my Auburn back together again... 31 spline ford unit for me now...and some softer launches...
