Default 95 Mustang Cooling Problems

Help me, my mustang is draining my bank account. I am having major cooling issues. My mustang at very random times will pin the coolant needle at the red and will puke out coolant from the resovoir. I have just put brand new head gaskets in the motor and do not even have 100 miles on it. I also upgraded to head studs instead of head bolts. I took my car to a radiator shop and they said that i needed a new radiator so i got a new radiator. As i was driving home about 10 miles the thing started to overheat on the freeway so i took it back to the shop and the owner worked with me for 2 hours and multiple test drives to figure out what the problem was. We replaced the sending unit, the thermostat, the radiator, the radiator cap. The water pump has a pulley set on it and it also has a new gatorback belt. The guy at the radiator shop told me that the water pump might be spinning to fast and cavatating the water making it spill out. Help me i am so lost what do u guys all suggest.

Well . . . a few things. First of all, our beloved SN95s have cooling issues when we mod them. Because you have a supercharged application (similar to mine), I would suggest a few things:

1. Make SURE you are not running anything more than 30% antifreeze in your radiator. Water is the best coolant.

2. Get a Fluidyne radiator -- the stock unit isn't designed to deal with the kind of hp you are making.

3. Did this problem occur immediately after your new head gaskets? If so, there may be some kind of blockage or leak.

I have been fighting the same battle as you since summer hit. It's usually around 110 here in the summer.

Good Luck.

Ok well i am not sure what mixture of antifreeze the radiator shop put back in it when they installed the new radiator but before i got the new radiator i had been running straight water only to make sure the head gasket install didnt have any problems. So i dont think it is water or antifreeze that is cooling it. The new radiator i got was a stock replacemtnet unit the guy at the radiator shop didnt asik if i wanted to upgrade so i am stuck for now with a stock radiator, unless someone needs a 94-95 replacement radiator that has been only used for 15 miles i will sell it for 100.00. Do you have any part numbers for either a 3 core griffin or fluidyne radiator. Is it really worth the 450 bucks. If it is i will have to upgrade but i would like some peoples input. Yes the Heating probems started right after the head gasket install, what could possibly clean the block out if it does have any blockage.
