Default Bad Ignition Mod?

How do I test to find out if I have a bad Ignition Mod? It's brand new but you never know. I still can't ge the ca rrunning. I checked for plugs, wires, coil...and everything is ok, but no start. Maybe I have a bad ignition mod.

Not sure, but maybe the parts stores can test them.

Update - Its not the module - we got it to fire up. Now he is having an overheating problem. See "Headers glowing red."

Thanks,

Good webpage on TFI modules...

http://www.onr.com/user/pbooth/mustang/tfi.html

note to self: If it is acting up when engine is warm it could be a bad module as well... they seem to not like the heat. I had a miss only after car was warm and only at part throttle 4-5,000rpm. Replaced everything (coil, spark plugs, cap, rotor, cleaned injectors) and then the TFI and it stopped... old TFI test fine, and acts fine when cold.

FYI- 79's car does not use a TFI module. It is the separate ignition module.

95 - are you saying you have no spark? Or is the car just not starting, which could be caused by many things?

Maybe you've got a bad ignition switch. Could be a fusible link too.
If the car has an alarm or security system, that could be malfunctioning...

I changed all the ignition parts. I was told to check the fusible links but I couldnt find any. I traced the wires from the solenoid to the firewall the best I couldnt, but no luck. Any ideas.

A Haynes manual will point you in the right direction, but you might try googling the subject - you never know, it might be on the web.
