Default 8.8 questions in 84' GT

Hi, I have an 8.8 rear that I am trying to install in my 84' GT to replace the 7.5. I have an E6SW-BA 8.8, not sure what it came out of but I'm pretty sure it wasnt a Mustang. Does anyone know what this rearend came out of? Thanks

You might want to PM Foxchassis, he could probably tell you.

E6S = 1986 Thunderbird

The Thunderbird wasn't supposed to have an 8.8" rear until the '87 model year and then only in the Turbocoupe.

Ok, so this is what i have now:
Im positive its an 8.8" but it has drum brakes and the casting code on the 3rd member is E6sw-BA. Any ideas if this will fit a 84' Mustang? I'm not a 8.8" expert !
Thanks for the help!

The T-bird rearend is slightly wider, but will work.
