I have a 91 5.0 coupe w/ a T-5. The car has a bad vibration at any speed above 80 mph. I have installed a new FRPP alum. driveshaft (that has been checked for proper balance) a new 50 oz balancer, new tires (balanced). There is some play at the tailshaft to yolk connection. I need to replace the bushing. Is this to involved to do in the driveway? Are there any special tools/techniques involved?
Btw, it has started leaking at the rear trans seal now also.....
Thanks, Herc

It involves pulling the tailhousing, which can be done without removing the whole transmission from the car. I'm pretty sure the bushing is pressed in. If you're creative, you can probably rig up a puller/installer. I don't even know what the proper tool is for that job...
I do know that I read that an AOD bushing works in a T5, and is better. I think they're easier to find too. You should probably get a(nother) new yoke to go with it.

I have a bad vibration starting around 75mph. By the time I get to 100moh, I can't see out of the mirrors. I have a new Ford Racing alum driveshaft in the car. It has been in for over a year. The vibration has gotten worse over the past 6 months. I was told it was due to the tailshavf bushing being worn out. There is a lot of play at the yoke. My question is how do I replace it?
Thanks. Herc

there is actually a ford special tool that you can use without pulling the trans out. the hard part would be getting ahold of one. otherwise you will have to get a new extension housing, or pull the trans, pull off the extension housing and press it out.

I have the trans out of the car, along w/ the engine. I'll post again when I get it all back together. I'm finally getting my 306/AFR165 combo put together.
Thanks for the help........
