I am a new 1989 Mustang GT owner and fairly new to car repair. My power passenger window will not go up. I have removed the door panel and plastic weathershield and have purchased a used regulator and motor. It appears the old motor is held in place with 4 rivets?????? How do I get these out? Any other help would be appreciated - first time!
if the motor is bad theres 3 little bolts that hold it in right above the speaker hole. on the track assembly you can grind those rivets off with a dremel tool or a small grinder and it will fall off.

make sure when you install the new motor that u have the wiring completely done... the motor will not activate unless both sides are connected to the switch panels... driver side and passenger side... just a lil info... I figured this out when I thought mine went out my passenger switch panel broke the wiring off on one of the connectors... so i couldnt get it up unless i pushed the side panel in... and the drivers side wouldnt work... finally soldered it up and works like a champ...

I've never seen a riveted anything riveted on that needed to be drilled to remove a window motor. Just remove the speaker, remove 3 bolts that hold the motor, wiggle it out of the speaker hole. Install the new one the same way and tighten the bolts.
