Default EFI to carb conversion

hey everybody
i just picked up a 89 theft recovery 5.0
motor and all electronics are gone but otherwise complete

my buddy has a 351 windsor core that hed be willing to part with super cheap if i want it

how hard is it to convert from a car set up for efi to carb?

i know i need an intake and carb and a new dist
what about fuel pump?
can i run an adjustable regulator to knock stock pressure down to where i need it?
or should i just "T" the lines together and let the spillover return to the tank?
i really dont want to buy a feul pump if i dont have to

also............
what color wires should i be looking for as far as a constant ignition hot to wire my new dist to?

hmmm guess thats about it for now......
thanx scott

Default Carb Conversion

Scott, this is the article that helped me immensely in my carb swap, I also put in a 351w and am currently putting in a t-56 6 speed, see my gallery for pics.

You can run an adjustable regulator but are very expensive, you may be better off taking out the elec pump in tank and go with a mechanical one which are fairly cheap and reliable. As for the hot wire, I figure anything that is live in the run position will do, you will have to go with a duraspark or some other ignition system. Best o luck, worked out excellent for me.

Wink efi to carb

You can just t it off. thats what i did on my 95. I have no problems with it but i am planning on getting the holley red fuel pump and adding a sump to the gas tank and new braided fuel lines
