Default Radiator over flow tank problem

Hey guys,

My problem is this; I recently purchased an aluminum radiator for my 95 GT. The radiator I purchased was for a 95 cobra. The radiator was an inch and a half wider than the old one, so now my over flow tank will not fit back in its place between the radiator and the front of the motor.

Summit has several after market tanks, but they do not have the top, which will receive the Ford cap with the sensor built in. If I do not have that plugged in, the “Coolant” light will be lite constantly.

Can anyone make any suggestions? Other than reinstalling the old radiator, or fabricating a custom aluminum over flow tank, which I have priced and I am looking at about three to five hundred bones.

Thanks

Richard

Maybe you can make a simple bracket to hold the overflow tank in a different location?

BTW, I hate those coolant level sensors. Half the time they seem to be wrong anyway. Mine turns on and off regardless of the coolant level.

Yeah, looking that way for me. Thinking about going with an aftermarket Summit racing aluminum over flow tank and having my buddy with a diagnostic machine come over and turn the coolant light off.

Does it go through the computer on an SN-95? I'm pretty sure it doesn't on a fox. My light was stuck on, and unplugging the sensor turned it off. I guess the newer one could be different though...

MeanGreen,

I am not sure. I installed the radiator yesterday and then realized the over flow doesn’t fit. I haven’t turn on the motor to see if the light would be on or not. I will give it a try when I get home tonight
