My pressure guage is on the shrader valve. When i first put in my 190 holley fuel pump the guage read 40 or so and when i shut off the pressures stayed around 25-30 psi for a long time,so it would maintain pressure for hours. Now it does not do that,i shut off the car and it go's to zero.Any ideas,my oil does not seem to be going up, no smell, plugs look good, runs fine.Should i worry about it?
Is it just bleeding back to the tank?
Thanks for the help....

Phoned Holley tech line today. The pump i have is a HLY-12-901 190lph.The tech told me the pump is not designed to maintain pressure like the factory fuel pump.He said it should bleed off right away.Im like well when i first installed it the pressure stayed for a long time before it bled off.The tech said your pump is working and doing more what it should do now by bleeding off the pressure. The tech said the factory pumps maintain pressure, but our pumps don't.Maybe some other after market one's do.
Anyone buying this? Anyone notice how long there fuel pressure stays around for after they shut it off? Or does it bleed off like this guy says it should?
Who has a Holley in tank fuel pump in there car?
Thanks.......

Called back Holley for the hell of it just to see if i get another tech to talk to and i did.I gave the guy the same question and he said the pump will bleed off pressure right away after you shut off the car.But why would it maintain pressure when i first put it in.The only thing i did since then is put 24 lb injectors and a BBK adjustable fuel presssure regulator. But yet the car runs perfect hot or cold.I do only ever run the car with less then a 1/4 tank of gas though.Maybe the pump got hot and now it bleeds back to the tank?
Anyone know how to isolate the problem,i guess i could put my stock regulator back on and see if that does anything, any ideas???
Thanks...

This is turning into a self help site.lol..
So i put the stock regulator back on and yup the fuel pressure stays at 28 psi when the car is off. it's been an hour and it does not look like it going to drop any time soon.So this BBK regulator is screwed or what? At one point it did hold pressure like the stock one.The question is where is it bleeding the pressure back to, the tank or the motor?
Update, just got off the phone with Summit tech(can't get a hold of BBK) Summit tech says the regulator in there experience will bleed the fuel pressure back to the tank thus when you turn the car off the fuel pressure guage will straight to zero. The tech says this is normal.Does any one else notice there fuel pressure go to zero when they shut off there car(with a BBK-1706 REGULATOR)?

I've got a Walbro 110 lph, and a Jet FPR, and mine will usually stay around 20#, when the car has been off for several minutes.
I think it shouldn't matter what FPR is installed, I have read that it's the pump, which holds the pressure on the gauge - the idea is to not have the feed line drain back into the tank.
I suspect that a higher volume pump, like a 190, is sufficient enough to not need to maintain as much pressure, or fuel, in the feed line.

Well,I talked to a BBK tech about the fuel pressure dropping to zero and they said that it will bleed pressure fast when the car is turned off.I guess some do some don't,all i know is it sucks putting the regulator on when it's still attached to the rail.
