My trans is on its way out and i'm planning on upgrading to a TKO 600 for future mods i plan to do. what is needed to swap over to a TKO from stock. Will my new king cobra clutch be fine. Also going to install a ford racing aluminium driveshaft when i do the change.

I pulled a t-5 out of my car, 68 mustang, the trans mount is different from t-5 , least it was in my case. The spacer plate was different, the starter hole was a little off. I was told that I would need a hyd. clutch as well which I added, you may already have one on your year. Hope it helps

you dont need anything special,, what you need to do is go to ddperformance.com and get one from them, easiest and cheapest,,, getyou a TKO600 for 1700$ McLeod SFI bellhousing for $300 and a Mcleod Clutch for $300 and your set for a while,, going to the TKO 60 you will need a 26 spline clutch for the 26 spline input shaft and you will need a 31 spline yoke for your current driveshaft,, if i were you i would order a new driveshaft from them as well a 95-96 FRPP aluminum DS will cost ya $225 from them or from summit, it comes with a 31 spline yoke already there and balanced,, figure this if you by the yoke $75 or so have it put on and balanced at a shop itll cost ya bout 150$ so spend the extra 75$ and have a lighter and stonger DS too,, i love mine and it shifts great,

also ppl think you need a different cross member but you dont, just cut he welds off of your stock one and slide it all the way back, afteryou get the tranny installed retack the welds and youre good to go
