I own a 1988 5.0 Convertible automatic. I'm trying to decide whether I should put a standard in it or keep the auto. There are currently no mods to it except for equal length headers and an H-Pipe. I plan on do some big mods to it this winter and one mod is either to do a tranny swap or beef up the auto? I need some opinions on which would be best?

if it were my car i would probably stick with the automatic, simply because its a convertible and i would like just crusing around with the top down and probably a nice sounding exhaust.
