Default Help please!! Need cam info....

newbie here. could really use some help.
have an 87 gt. stock short-block. vortec s/c 10lbs boost, underdrive pullies, hartman intake, 1-5/8 shorties,24lb injectors, 70mm mass air& t/b, t-rex pump,3.55 gears.......pushed out a head gasket (big shock). Putting on Edelbrock alum heads 1.90 valves, would like to do a cam swap.
1. can I do this with the block still in the car?
2. what size cam would be optimum?
3. what ratio roller rockers should I use?
4. best head gaskets?
Any help would be appreciated!!!!

I think the FRPP E or B series cam would do just fine in that application.

Yes you can do this with the engine in the car, but its definatly easier with the engine out. All the front accesories have to come off, and the radiator. For the cam, I would keep to something in the .500 lift range like an FRPP E cam, or TFS stage 1. You can keep the 1.6 ratio rockers, but upgrade to something like the FRPP roller rockers. I use Fel-Pro HP 1011-2 head gaskets, you can get them at Checker, or Schucks.

Looks like you are probably under-injected though. With 10 psi, and aluminum heads, those 24 lb. injectors aren't going to flow enough fuel to the engine, I would upgrade to a set of 30's at least.
