Default car not staying started until warm

when i start my car it wont stay started unless i give it gas then it seems like its going to die then i give it some more gas. i do this for about 3-4 minutes then its fine. what the hell? can it be the idle air control?

Might be a real bad vacuum leak. Could also be the Coolant Temperature Sensor (not the gauge sender).
Try scanning for codes.
