Default what do i need to complete my project?

hey, i have a 347 block with a set of ford racing aluminum x302 cylinder heads and a ford racing e303 cam with crane cams 1.7 roller rockers. thats what i have so far. to finish this up what would u guys suggest? i was thinking about the bbk ssi intake with the tb. this would match the ports in the heads right? i know i need injectors and a maf but what size injectors should i go with? also i want to get the king cobra clutch kit. i have headers and a full exhaust. what more do i need to complete the project? am i good with what ive listed or am i forgetting a bunch of stuff? thanks.

Sounds like your on the right track with the BBK set-up. I read it produced the best dyno numbers and looks good too. I run a ported Cobra intake with the Accufab 75MM TB. I use a C&L 80MM MAS with 30# injectors and a tuned '93 Cobra X3Z CPU on my 331. It turns about 410RWHP with 392LBT.Any real combo other than the stock set-up(5.0 intake, 19# injectors,65MM TB, etc.) should produce the HP your looking for..Good Luck!!

see i never even though about the computer, what would be the disadvantage of running the stock computer? or is there an upgrade i would need for it? or a new cpu alltogether? i was thinking of 24# injectors. i heard something about 30# being a little big for the set up and running crazy rich. would i be safe with 30#? also would i be able to keep my fuel pump or would i need a beefy pump? basically i wanna know what i can keep from my stock set up that wouldnt cripple the performance. im looking for 400hp and 400tq when its said and done, is that realistic with what ive listed?

I would go ahead and do the 30's for injectors. It won't run rich as long as you have the computer tuned for them and a MAF that is matched for 30's also. Go for the gusto and jump up to a 255lph pump too.

whats involved in tuning the computer? can the stock computer be tuned or do i need upgrades or a different cpu? can i keep my stock ignition? and what difference would a fat fuel pump make if the injectors only flow so much? theres alot i dont know about fuel injection systems but im learning. i appreciate the advice guys.

If you have a local shop that deals with Hi-Po Mustangs then they should be able to help you with it. I took to my local shop and they tuned it for me with SCT sortware. You can also buy a performance chip from Summitt, Jegs, etc. that you can set-up. You can tune your stock CPU; I just like the '93 Cobra CPU because the curves are set-up a little higher than the Stcok CPU. The reason to run a bigger fuel pump is so you won't lean your car out too much when running hard. The injectors pump out only so much; but if there is no fuel there, well you get the idea. A upgraded ing. system is a good option; but not needed. If you want 400HP I would upgrade to an MSD set-up. I run a MSD 6AL with billet distrib. and 9MM Ford Racing wires with NGK Hi-Po plugs..LATER!!

so if i got a chip from jegs or whatever i could tell them what i have and they could customize one for me? how much would it hurt me to keep the stock ignition? and what is an aftermarket set up worth? how big of a fuel pump should i put on it? since i have the motor from the heads down and i have all winter to play with it i am kind of torn weather or not i just want to run a 4 bbl on it. any idea what kinda hp i could expect if i were to do that? also does anyone know about getting set ups like this e tested? one guy in town has a carb'd 408 in his daily driver but i never got a chance to talk to him. i kinda change my mind daily about what i wanna do with it. too many options. but realistically for another 2000 could i finish this up and be running the hp i want? thanks

you could also look into a twEECer or twEECer RT for custom tuning it yourself.

Yep, just tell them what you need and they will burn a chip for your specs. It won't hurt to keep the stock Ignition set-up; but if 400HP is your goal you need to address it. You've spent mad $ so far to build it. Just leaving to stock Fuel and Ign. set-ups would step you back. A 255LPH is what I use and recommend. Using a carb is good for a street strip/drag Stang; but if plan on driving this baby daily I would stick with EFI. It's cheaper on the wallet and more reliable in today's world.2G should finish you out since most of the interal work is done...LATER!!

yeah definitely sounds like you are on the right track, i have just put in my new 347 stroker, i have scat forged 4340 h beams, crank, JE pistions, comp xe282hr, moroso main cap girdle, comp cams for valves, springs, etc, RHS 200s heads, FRPP 42# injs, as for the intake i went with edelbrock RPMII and accufab 75mm TB and a PRO-M 80mm b/c these are tried and true,, i know the SSI looks hot and shows to make nice power but have heard too many complaints about it and casting inperfections and so on and so forth,,,, sounds like you got a nice motor on your hands, good luck

ok so this is the list i came up with. im gonna stick with the bbk ssi and 70mm tb, #30 injectors, 76mm maf, 190lph pump and regulator, king cobra clutch kit, fuel rails, and the chip set up for all of that. im going to leave the stock ignition for now i just wanna get it up and running for now. but i do have the 9mm wires..wadda ya think of that? anything wrong on there? or that i should consider changing? what kind of power should i make with all that on my bottom end with the heads i have and whatnot?
