Default engine swap from bronco to mustang

Hello. I've got an 89' Bronco [EFI] 5.0 with an automatic transmission. I was wondering if I could put it into a mustang because the body is rusted out and it takes a lot of gassssss. Also could I use the transmission and the axles? About the camshaft of the H.O., is it just take the cam out of the mustang into my bronco? Would I have to change the EEC stuff too or could I just use it from my bronco? Thanks.

You'll need an HO 'puter with the HO cam.
You'd probably have to change the tailhousing on the trans, especially if it's 4WD.
I doubt that the axles will work.

axles wont work, i think they have more splines, not to mention if they did work, you would be stuck looking for wheels for a bronco. trans is the same as the mustang internally, unless its an E40D. externally, the case is different, and like mean green said, the extension housing will be different for 4wd. even if it were a 2wd (i dont even think they made 2wd broncos) the output shaft would be longer and extension housing wouldnt work. driveshaft yoke i believe is bigger. as far as the engine, you want to put the bronco block into the mustang? go for it as long as you use all the stock manifolds and cam from the mustang assuming its also a 5.0. heads should be the same.

Well you a stuck on the cam deal because the Bronco will not be a Roller Engine. They still had a Flat tappet Cam and the firing order is probably different also.
