I'm trying to set the ignition timing, and I need to know where the timing marks and where the Marker like thing is that you go by with the timing light. I've always known it to be on the Harmonic Damper and I just can't seem to find it!...thanks in advance for any help...i hope i was clear enough

clean the damper off with a wire brush, and pull out the spout 12 degrees should do it. it might be easier to see the numbers from under the car with a light

in the wiring harness near the distributor you should find a little gray module plugged into the harness within a few inches of the distributor remove this to set base timing, remove with engine off reinstall E.O.

I've found the timing marks.....THANKS for the advice....and now that I've done that I need to know how to measure the timing. I'd like to know what part of the piece of the metal pointer mechanism above the marks to use. I've attached a picture i've made of the part in microsoft paint. I'm thinking its the pointed end all the way to the right but I'd like to make sure. My Chiltons doesn't say anything about setting the timing. Thanks in advance.

you should have some numbers on it ATDC 20-10-0-10-20 BTDC
set it on twelve with a timing light. did you find the spout?

the spout is kinda like an old vacuum advance, just electronic

Black just dont drive it if it starts backfireing and popping when you start it you can pay some1 25 bucks to set it trust me i set mine at 33 degrees base and spit out a piston lol.
