how come aftermarket mass air dont have a bar in the middle of the tube like the cobra 70mm mass air does. ok well this is a picture for 94-95 mass air(see no bar) and the other is 93 cobra 70mm(same as the one i have)

To increase air flow, and some are actually modified stock pieces, then they get recalibrated.
