Default Need help with which carb?

Hello im new here. I have a question. I have an 88 fox which i have converted to a carb setup. Its a fresh rebuilt 302 block, 351w heads, f303 cam, roller rocker setup. I have a holley 650 and a holley 600. the car runs good till into second gear then the car starts to buck and almost seems like the carb is flooding it out.

anybody have ideas on what could be causing this. thanks

Are you still running the electric fuel pump? Carbs need no more than 7 pounds of pressure.

Default Thinking about switching EFI to carb

Why did you change from EFI to carb. Was it hard? I am thinking about doing the same. I am having so much trouble with efi. If i change i would run a 600cfm holley. What size are you running? You dont want to go to big.

Does it do this under WOT or just part throttle? If it's part throttle, it sounds like you are lean on the primary's, or need a larger pump shot.

Need more info on the carbs as well. Vacumn secondary or DP? If it's a DD and mostly street driven, I would run the 600, if not, the 650.

Pull the plugs and let us know.
