Default Burning Speedo cables w/ exhaust

Well as my titles states I keep burning up speedo cables with my exhaust. I have a tremec 3550 5 speed and a bassani xpipe. I have gone through 4 of them from the exhaust burning them from being too close. Any suggestions? It does have cruise control. Would a longer cable work? Thanks for any help....

Not sure if the longer cable would help but it might allow you more adjustment around things. D&D sells one for the T56 conversion in a fox which is about 6 - 8 inches longer. Thats what I have in mine.
I would also try picking up some of that DEI heatshield material and wrap it where it comes close to the exhaust. Secure it with stainless zip ties and your golden!

easy fix , I simply didnt use the factory speedo cable holders. Fabricated a quick bracket to hold the cable away from the exhaust on the underside and drill / tap. Then relocate the cable clip on the frame[under the hood] to a lower position.
