window stuck down... need help ASAP... rain coming...
So my windows always worked fine (power windows), not slowing or anything like one with a dieing motor would... and then tonite i rolled the window down (like normal... nothing strange) and it wont come back up... its like... i press the switch and nothing... no noise or anything.. the other window works... i took the little panel off and swapped the other window switch with the one that wasn't working and it didn't change anything... so its not that... what could it be? would the motor just die like that? how much will replacing the motor cost me??? thanks for the help... i need to get it up ASAP its about to rain tomorrow - i would take the door panel off but its 1AM and i dont have a light... plastic bag it is... but even so i need to fix it... help... please
sorry no solutions just plastic bag it or car cover till they reply, mine has a dead pass side window switch only works from drivers side my door locks have the exact same scenerio
Pull the motor and connect it straight to the battery. If theres no buzz, then the brushes might've worn down and dislodged - that's what mine did. I picked up a new one at uh-oh zone, it was like $60-$70, and it's guranteed for life.
If the motor itself is working, then the gears are stripped. They can be fixed without getting a new motor, but I've never dealt with them.

If window does not work on either that particular door switch or the drivers switch, ur gonna have to pull it anyways..it is unlikely both switches arent working....Try a search on top right of page...Ive seen many threads on this before.

i took the panel off and hit the motor with a wrench while i held the button
its got a dead spot on the bottom, does it now if the window gets to low
last night i got this exact same problem......is there a way to pull up the window manually....
What youll have to do..
Remove two bolts on the door handle
take off the door handle, and unplug switch
pull off the door panel
plug back in the window switch *youll see later
^^ very easy ^^
Then hit the motor (bottom right of door) with a wrench at the bottom
and hold the up button while you hit the motor
(this should be stickied ) one of my longest post and most useful
take the motor out sometimes the door flexes and jams the motor thats what happend to mine, just take it off run the motor and then put it back on, same exact problem i had rolled it down one day wouldnt come back up
