I'm performing the same swap. I believe you only need to change the short harness from the transmission plug to the plug under the car. Its only about a foot long. The AOD has one four-wire plug, and the T5 has two two-wire plugs.

You may have to connect the additional two wires together, as they are a loop from the clutch safety switch.

The A9L should work fine with the AOD, not the other way around, though! Ask me how I know!

I was told you cant use a a9l for an aod because it is for a 5 speed but you can use a a9p auto for a 5 speed. And how do you know?

you guys are really going to aod's? just wondering why/what advantages? gained or lost from t5 to aod? cause mines an aod and kinda had the urge to row my own gears once in a while, im still open minded but just would like the feedback to pick best route etc to keep the aod or ditch it. well i know the advantage is no missed shifts but just curious what the norm is switching too from both sides.
