rims and tire opinions I have weld draglights, skinnys up front with the wides in the rear. Now i need to get a new pair of rear tires. The front ones wear fairly quickly so i get new ones probably every 8 months or so, but there cheap, like 45 bucks a pop cheap. Even the rears arent too bad, but i cant find the size i need thats a soft compound tire. Softest i can find is the cooper gt which is a thread rated 440, which is whats on it now, just bald, and i spin tires up to 3rd gear not tryin with those. Is it just cause there bald or cause the tire is too hard? I was considering swapping over to regular rims. Just for the improved handling. I like to drag, but i dont do it alot. I dont even get on my car alot, i just like having the power for when i do. Or, i was thinking a pair of mickey thompson street legal drags. I dont just have the money to go out and get new rims and tires, but i do have the money for the tires. Should i go with just another pair of cooper gt's or the drag radials? Its not a daily driver so i keep it out of the bad weather most the time. But i may wanna drive it somewhere acouple hours away from time to time. Or if i could find someone to barter with, my rims for a set of stock pony's. They wouldnt need tires, id buy the tires. Or, get the drag radials, see how i like em, and save up for some rims and tires later, or find someone who might wanna trade rims or whatnot. What do all you guys think? |
