Default cobra and gt-40 intake differences

what are the differences between the cobra intake and the gt-40 intake if u no any specs between the two please tell.

same basic design, except the GT-40 intake is supposed to flow better stock. GT40 manifold is tubular, and you can not port it, and the Cobra is the same thing in a cast version and is able to be ported.

and the explorer intake has the cast runners of the Cobra and the plenum box of the GT40

Looks are about it. The original GT40 is the prettiest and priceiest, followed by the Cobra, then the Explorer version.

Performance wise they're pretty much equal... You really can't go wrong with any one of them. As already mentioned, the Cobra and Exploder versions have the extra advantage of being able to be ported.

And the Exploder is the most affordable - just look on E-bay. Real GT-40s regularly go for >$400.00. You can get a Cobra for ~$300.00, and the Explorer for around $200.00. With the Explorer, you just want to be careful to buy an earlier version, which has the EGR passages - if you're wanting to retain your emissions equipment.

The '96-early '97 Exploder intakes have the EGR ports, while mid-'97-'01 do not.

It's only an issue on the fox cars, as the SN's use an external EGR anyways.
