Haha, I live in the ghetto(near a large university), and I understand completely. No offense at all. You are right to deride the ghetto.
I think most people use aftermarket controllers for this. Usually they have a probe which senses radiator temperature at the fins of the rad.
I think most of the newer cars use the computer as the controller. On a fox, you need a stand-alone unit. It's prolly just easier to buy a new universal one.
I'd recommend making brackets to support the fan, rather than using those things which use the radiator fins to support it.
