So I almost have everything to do my cobra brakes. One of the last things I wanna get is all new hard lines since im gonna have all the brake stuff off anyway I figured I might as well replace the last few pieces. Now my question is, If I get the hard lines that are for a 93 cobra, will that make the install any easier? The lines for a GT and the Cobra are the exact same price. Does anyone know anything about this? Will it make it easier to hook the lines up to the Cobra MC? Plus I figured since the rear lines will be for disc, I wont have to bend or cut the lines on the axle cuz they will already be the right length. Am I better off getting GT lines or Cobra lines? Thanx

I want to say that the master cylinder fittings are reversed between the GT and the Cobra. I think that is all that is the only difference other than the line on the rear axle. Seems like I read that they reversed the fittings so they wouldn't mix up the master cylinders on the assembly line. If this is true, then I would go with the Cobra lines. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. By the way, what are you doing for the hoses?
For hoses I am going to get these: Maximum Motorsports :: The Leader In Mustang Performance Suspensions
The exact ones Im getting are part number MMBK6F. They are specifically for a fox with sn95 brakes on it. As for the rear, Im probably going to get stock sn95 hoses because they dont have stainless rear hoses available yet.

i think one thing to consider is that the "cobra" brake conversion are doing is probably an sn95 or newer conversion. these braking systems arent exactly the same as the 93 cobra brakes (im just assuming). i personally say why waste the time and money. hardlines are usually pretty sturdy, and unless you see physical damage, i would just get the stainless braided hoses, and call it done. i highly doubt that ford spent the money on having different hardlines bent for cobras, they are surely the same.

Well, I just figured its only a little less than $100 for all new hardlines. So I figured I would replace them since every single other piece of the brake system is being changed. But like I said the GT and Cobra lines are the same price and I know when you do disc brakes in the rear you have to bend the stock lines into an S shape because they are too long for the disc brakes, or you have to cut and reflare them. So I figured since cobras have disc already there would be no need for any of that. Plus I would rather change them than have them start to get really bad in a couple years. There are plenty of 80's cars that get the lines all rusted out and end up snapping if you try to disconnect them and mine is not oo far behind being a 93. For $100 I would rather be safe than sorry, especially with the brake system. Im sure it wont hurt to use the cobra lines, mainly for the rear axle line, but maybe it will hook to the master easier, idk.

Where did you find the hardline kits at? Mustangs Unlimited sells the lines in sections for the front, middle, and rear. I don't remember if they sold them for the Cobra or the '94-95 though. On those hoses, make sure you get the right thread pitch. Mine are a M10x1.5.
you dont really need to replace any of the hardlines. but like you say, it would be easier if you got the cobra rear lines. i just did the rear disc conversion on my 93 and i got new rear hardlines just because they were a direct fit and for the sn95 on a fox application. i found mine on ebay, from a place in new mexico. i think they went out of business, it was called daves mustang or something like that. as for any of the other hardlines, its a waste of money unless they are corroded like systronic said. otherwise you can just spray some liquid wrench on them and its imperative that you use flare nut wrenches if you plan to reuse lines. i think you need an 11 mm. remember only 94-95s have the hardline that runs across the axle. i got my sn95 softlines from the zone since they are obsolete from ford.

Well I was going to order them from 5.0resto. They sell them as a complete set. You can get regular steel lines for $80 or you can get stainless lines for like $120.
