Default which engine to replace 85 5.0

I have scouted salvage yards in my area and have found what I have narrowed down to few viable candidates for replacing the cracked block in my 85 GT. the contestants are an 87 5.0 out of a Cougar, an 87 5.0 out of a Town Car and an 89 5.0 out of a Ford Bronco. I have found the 85 motor C,R,P and heads are salvagable buit what would be my best choice for a replacement all else being equal except price. The 89 is by far the most expensive. I am on a budget so new block, crate etc is out of the question. Thanks

How much are they? you can get a Ho motor between 6 and 8 hundred, or a complete rebuild for 1500.

The two 87 motors are $150 each, the 89 is $350.

there is a wrecker in edmonton that sells em for 75 ha ha, the thing you will want to look for is a rollerized block ( as you must of thought by now ) so the newer the engine the better chance of finding a rollerized block

ALL '86-'01 5.0's are roller-capable.

'85 is hit or miss unless it came from a 4v Mustang. If you are re-using the pistons from your '85, anyone of those will do.
