so i jsuyt got my car running after replacing the heater core. its a 78 with a fuel injected 5.0 out of a mustang before i proceeded to remove my entire dashboard and my air intake up to the thortlte body, i could rev it up to whatever rpm i wanted. i was getting on it today and noticed it seemed to limit itself to approximately 5500 rpm's. i dont know if it was the motor missing or anything, but from the videos i see on the internet, it kind of sounded like a rev limiter. HOWEVER, when in neutral or with the clutch pedal in, i can rev it to whatever i want.

whats up with this?

Double check your work under the hood, i.e. electrical connections, intake tract, etc.
