Exclamation questions on intake manifolds

i currently am running jsut a stock 5.0 with a cold air intake and some crappy exhaust that the person b4 me through on there...1990 mustang gt convertible...i just recently put in tokico shocks and lowering springs and also replaced the control arm bushings tie rod ends ball joints... now i want to work on the intake...i like the bbk ssi intake and from what ive read it performs good...
what should i do? put the bbk intake upper and lower with a bbk tb and a bigger maf or should i port the stock intake and put on a new tb and maf...
later on i plan on rebuilding the motor so what would be my best bet?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I would buy a proven intake that has been around a wile, not ssi or anything else bbk! Nothing else will be needed, but a cam together with the intake will get you some nice gains.

I would go with a proven intake such as a TFS, holley systemax, or edelbrock. They will give you much more "bang for you buck" over porting the stock intake. Then you could upgrade to matching heads and cam later on as your budget allows. I would also install a 65mm TB and larger MAF. They will help now and will be required when you upgrade further. One thing to note, if/when you install heads/cam you will need larger injectors so the MAF will need to be calibrated to adjust for the larger injectors.

Ford e303 is a proven cam that will give a nice gain on a stock motor. I would port match the cobra intake to give it a little bit better flow. It is a good low end intake.
