Question new engine...could use help decoding casting numbers

So first off, I am new to the forum(first post). Now to the engine info. A friend of my brother just gave me a 302 that supposedly is an 83 but I am not sure. The heads I know are D80E which if I'm not mistaken are off of a mustang. The engine has a 2bbl carb intake. Here are the casting numbers if any of you can help me determine what year the engine is for sure. EOAE D3C 19 3G28 are then numbers on passenger side. on the driver side there is a Z and 80 10 with the 80 over the 10. I hope it is an 85+ roller cam motor, but with my luck it's probbaly not. I could deal with flat tappet with it being free. From what I've read around the E=an 80's block. If any of you could decode it would be awesome. Like I said I got the engine for free so I'm not going to cry if it's a flat tappet block and so on. Hope someone can help.

Casting Numbers

The Ford 302 Engine Specs

Remanufactured Ford Motors | Find High Quality Rebuilt Ford Engine

79-85 Specs.

Date codes are simple. First letter corresponds to the year. E = 8 down C
= 6. You have a E5 block 1985. First year for Roller cam. Also HO motors
are 351 firing order.

Head castings are underneath the valve covers, or on the back of the head.
Also 86 was the first year for Fuel Injection.

Sweet. Much Thanks man. That's what I was hoping to hear. I have been looking on the web and didn't really find much. I was hoping it was roller so I could use one of the 303 cams. Once again, thanks man.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'll be sure to check it out. I'll probably tear the motor down within the next couple of weeks

The heads are 78 model. If the block reads E0AE then it's a 80 model block. Fords part numbers are really simple to decode.
C= 60's
D= 70's
E= 80's
F= 90's
And Ford designated Z for the Mustang. For example D9ZB is 79 Mustang. Hope this helps!

Appreciate it man. I plan on keeping the block but not sure about the heads. I don't really know if they are worth the trouble. I'll let you know what I end up doing
