Question 1988 Mustang Mass Air Conversion needed to run B303 Cam?

i have a 1988 mustang gt 5 speed. i put a e303 cam in it and its running like crap. i founfd out after i did the swap that the e303 cam is not a good cam for speed density computers. i thought all mustangs from 88 and newer were mass air but mine is def speed density. so i am looking to swap it over to mass air. what computer should i be looking for? and will an automatic computer be better then a manual? or doesnt it matter? and will i need anything else then the harness computer and mass air meter?

It does matter if the computer is for an automatic or a manual big time, all u need is the computer (A9L), mass air meter, and u dont need the whole harness you just need the 4 wires from the mass air meter and plug them into open locations i will try and get the site for you, because you will need to unplug some wires and move them around to different spots, but it is farely easy and it only took me like 20 minutes, and it makes a huge difference.

alright lets just say that i am gonna buy the harness and computer and the sensor. do i just swap out the wiring harness and computer. and unhook the vacum line going to the map sensor? because i dont know if i trust myself with doing all that electrical stuff. i am only 18 and still in school so i dont wanna start messing with stuff and have it end up being a huge nightmare.

Default mass air

First off you dont just unhook the map sensor (Barametric pressure sensor) you keep the electrical connector plugged in aand you unhook the vacuum line and plug it with a bolt or something. I found it alot easier to use my old wiring harness and move around the connectors in the new computer because the plug that goes into the computer is allnumbered and you just follow the numbers that it tells you to plug and move the wires into, you can use the new harness and i think you have to remove your carpet and splice into the fuel relay in order for it to work plus unplug your old harness and plug in the new one to all the sensors, and i was only 18 when i did it to, and aslong as you use the instructions then it is a piece of cake

since your car is a 5 speed you can run either the A9L or A9P computer. if it was an auto you would have to stay with the A9P.

if it was me i'd go with the A9P, has better timing tables and doesnt have that delay in rpms when you shift like the 5 speed computer would.
