My steed has 125,000 miles on the shortblock. i was debating about just throwing new lifters (all 16) in on the stock cam. i know it will work but are there any negative effects? reason is that i have a ticking noise i narrowed down to the lifter valley, and well i know its a lifter(s). is it ok to put all new lifters on a high mileage stock cam?

Yes it is. Just make sure the cam is in decent shape, don't want to have to tear it down twice.

your stock roller cam will last a long time it will take new lifters in fact if you send your motor to be rebiult they will not replace the roller cam under a stock rebuild unless its really tore up
