Default Cleveland heads?

Has anybody here built a 302/351w with Cleveland heads? I am thinking that they would out perform alot of aftermarket heads. Does the 351m/400 engines use the same heads as the 2 barrel Cleveland?

You really dont want an M engine. You can put Cleveland heads on a Widnsor block fairly easily, you just need to plug one water passes hole and drill a new one.

And you need to find a rare and expensive aftermarket intake manifold.

The idea was a viable one back when the Windsor aftermarket was virtually non-existant, but a "Clevor" (Windows block with Cleveland heads) today is tomfoolery.

with all the aftermarket heads out there to choose from, putting cleavland heads on would be a waste. get a good set of AFR head's or edelbrock victor jr's. like i said there are so many and everyone will have a diff preference. there has been much more r and d put into winsor heads the flow charecteristic's are so refined and advanced with the windsor style head nowaday's that they will no doubt out perform a cleavland head anyhow.
besides unless you get a high dollar aftermarket aluminum cleavland style head stock cleavland heads are way heavy too. just like foxchassis said the component's to do this are pretty exotic and costly.

The aussie 2bbl heads are the best to use if your going to do it they have a smaller chamber than the rest the 4v heads have huge exhaust ports and valves. But you do have to find an aftermarket intake manifold that will mate the heads and intake together properly on the block, the only bad part is the price you might have to pay alot for the intake.

they arent that expensive they go for less than 500 which is about the price you get a trick flow intake manifold for anyway on ebay all the time i know because i almost did this head swap the only reason i didnt was because i got a good deal on my heads and cam go 4v the point of having cleveland heads is fo rthe huge valves that is what makes it a boss

if you go 4v you best have the compression and rpm to back em' up or else you're gonna have a dog. ya know there is such a thing as overkill.
