Hello everyone, My cousin is trying to find a mustang for a project car. He found a 1987 gt for a good price minus the engine and
tranny. The car has a few dings and minor rust except for under the hood on the driver side strut tower about halfway up from the k member wher it looks like the body is welded together from the factory. Of the four sides to this part the sides facing the windshield and radiator have minimal rust. However the side facing the engine has a lot of rust and a few holes. The side facing the inner fender has rust but no holes yet. I have read on the internet that this is common problem in time on the fox body and to walk away from these problems but I am asking the question that if you found the right bodyman that can weld then you should be able to cut one of these panels out of a wrecked mustang and weld it into the new one or possibly weld new steel around the existing parts. Please tell my cousin and me your thoughts on this subject.
