Default 5.0 piston to valve clearance

i have a 91 mustang with 308 motor with 1.6 rockers stud mount, and i just bought some new heads with 2.02 1.60 valves and x303 cam with 224 dur and 542 lift.when i did a piston to valve clearance i put playdo on piston valve reliefs and when i rotated it and took the heads off it never made an inpression in the playdo.is that a good thing or a bad thing?

That's exactly what you want. That means you have plenty of p to v clearance and you can assemble the engine with no worries.

that sounds good but might have another problem.i did a pushrod length check and my stock ones are fine but they dont ride in the middle of the valve like they should.they ride on bottom of valve tip.got a pushrod length checker and when i did that it really didnt change.

You did make TWO complete revolutions when you checked the piston to valve clearance, right?
