9 inch rear end worth it?

is the swap from 8.8 to 9 in worth it? a guy i know way back when had a nova he converted from a chevy 12 bolt to a ford 9 inch and actually gained 1-2 tenths something to do with the ring and pinion angle... i was wondering if there is any noticeable difference between the 8.8 and 9 inch

he did not pickup et with puting a 9in in it.a 9in takes more power to spin then a 12 bolt chevy.the gears were more then likely different.i run the 8.8 in a 9.06et car with no problems.i have good parts in it.just a fyi they make a 12bolt style center section for a 9in to make it take less hp to spin

according to him he went from a 4.11 chevy to a 4.10 ford and ran faster, not calling u a liar just saying what i heard

i have built and race car for 18yrs.i have never seen someone go faster by putting a 9in rear end in.no need for a 9in inless you have over 1200-1300hp.i believe you but the guy is full of sheet.
