Default head and cam , will this work ok??? Need a quick response!!

I have pulled the motor out of my 89gt what a oily sun of a #!cth, anyway i have an e303 .498" lift cam and a set of e7te heads that i bought off of ebay they had been ported out quite a bit and fit with 1.86, 1.54 valves and are supposed to have valve springs that are matched to the e303 cam, im putting these on and a 98 explorer intake. will i have any piston-valve clearance issues with this combo or can i just put it together and drop it in? Will this head intake cam swap make a noticeable difference in my car?

The only way to know for sure if you have enough clearence is to do the check with some clay and your old head gasket.

Default Clear

Nakternal is right - using clay to check clearnaces is a good idea regardless. If it were a head that hadn't been massaged, I'd be less insistant on checking it out, but there's a chance that it was shaved down, which would reduce normal clearances. Rocker seats might have been worked, lots of things could be different. Better to be safe than sorry.

What pistons are you running?
