Smile Question about TF Stage 1 Cam+1.7 RR

Hey Y'all, I have a question concerning this cam. I have searched everywhere for this, but this specific question, has not been answered, or maybe I am not looking right. Anyhoo, I have a 91 5.0 LX, with GT-40 Y, stock block, FMS pushrods (stock length), stock pistons, edelbrock performer 5.0 intake, full exhaust, will this cam clear the pistons without notching them? Will it run well on the above combo with 19lbs? The car is a vert with T-5, 3:73s and 255-40/17 rears and has run 14.1@99.4 with 2.3 60ft times with stock cam(yeah I know, I suk as a driver, but the trap speed is decent) Thanks for your consideration!

With a stock bottom end pistons and rods u need to go with the 1.6's u may have clearance issues, but if u kept the shims that came with the 1.7's you can pull up the rockers to clear the pistons but without knowing the lift I could not tell u if for sure it would hit or if you are running it too close for comfort. U really don't want to be in an interference condition like the imports, if the timing chain breaks or gets really sloppy the valves and push rods go by bye.

Total valve lift has nothing to do with PtV possible problems, you need to check PtV during the overlap period. When the valve is fully open, the piston is way down in the cylinder, no way it could hit the valve. Since you have a bigger intake valve, need to make sure clearance is OK with the existent relieves (radial clearance). You need to mock it up and check PtV.

The PR's length is not given by the parts in use, you need to check valve train geometry with an adjustable PR and determine the correct length required by your combo.
My 2¢.
