Default Retarded camshaft question.

I just put heads, e303cam and explorer intake with the 65mm throttlebody on my 1989 gt. The car seems to have less bottomend power and does not idle for sh##. Now i am second guessing myself on the cam install would these symptoms point to the cam being retarded one tooth, I set my timing at 12degrees btdc with the spout unplugged the midrange and topend pull alright i just thought it would have more power it doesnt feel much better than stock!

try 14 degrees of time.

I will give it a try does the computer take a little time to remap the fuel curves or is it pretty quick? I drove it today about 25 miles with 5 or 6 short stops and it seems to idle a little better.

yes, it will take some time for the computer to readjust the fuel map and put new fuel correction in KAM..........
