Default HOw much will i lose swapping from 4:30 to 3:73 gears

HOw much will i lose swapping from 4:30 to 3:73 gears?
I bought the car like this and i am about rdy to swap out gears now
its a 5spd and i get horrible gas but i always win in street racing but i lose on the highway alot or barely win. I almost lost to a srt4 modded it was horrible and my car is fast about 450hp and he had about 300 i think gears really destroyed me in the high end. I plan on hardly ever going to the track but doing tons of street racing and when i am off from work i will go to the track. I just want to know how much geforce i will lose and how much gas mileage i will gain back?

i think 3.73 is still big for street racing but if you planning to street race off the line then is good but if your going to race those 40 or 50 mph rolls then is to big i'm the same i get beat or i keep up on the rolled but when light on red and we smashed i take off on them

Default Traction

I think traction is a determining factor. If you're running regular street tires, going to drag radials will get back a lot of what you give up with more highway-friendly gears.

With gas soon to be well over $3 per gallon, now's a good time.

The 3.73's are a good all-around choice for a 5 speed.

Another mod to help off-the line performance would be LCA's and the correct spring rates (FRPP makes an inexpensive kit that works well).

Finally, moving that battery to the passenger side of the trunk (spend the dime and get a good aluminum box kit) makes a surprising difference.

Numerically higher gears are great for short runs and being quick off the line, the trade off is that your going to lose some top end power.
