Hey guys, I read a thread a couple of weeks ago about how to find out
what tranny you have. It was giving a link to a door tag decoder. I want this link and can't find it anywhere. PLEASE HELP !

i have the trans.. info on a spread sheet but can not cut and paste it i might be able to email it to you.

Does your printer have a scanner? scan it and stick it to your reply.

i just up load in my pic so brosw my file and find you pic and you will find in it should say t-5 spread sheet

Yeah, I found it but it didn't help. I need to know what transmission I
just pulled out of my parts car. It's either C3,4 or 5. I'm pretty sure it's
a C4, but I want to KNOW. Now, the metal tag on the tranny should have told me something when I gave it to my parts guy at work (Ford
Dealership) but it didn't. Too old I guess. Also I thought that the "W"
under TR on the door tag would tell me but I have had no luck yet. I've also heard a rule of thumb that a C4 has 11 bolts on the pan. Where a
C3 has 13. I also read in my haynes manual that the C3 has no adjustable low/ reverse band and both of my trannies do. I Don't have the original one out of my car yet, so I have not seen them side by side.
This is basically a curiosity issue. Also i'm wondering if this new tranny
IS different than my old one, will my Speedo be out? And if it is will changing the gear fix it?

i thought you where working with a manual trans.. if you now what year your newer trans. is out of you could use www.advanceautoparts.com look up the trans. filter kit and see what it say for opitions(it ask you about how many pan bolts and give you a pic of the pan gasket) other than that i would have to get some other of my books out and resureach it more and would have to have more info. hope this helps
