Questions for electrical gurus about my fuel pump cut off switch I just finished installing a switch to turn on and off my fuel pump as per Drewski's instructions and just wondering how reliable this install will be. I used a 30A aircraft type SPST switch with the red cover and a 40A relay. I cut the green and yellow wire from the fuel pump relay and soldered two 4 inch long, 12 gauge wires with female spade connectors to hook up to the 40A relay at pin 30 and 87. Then I hooked up the ground side to my switch, one end to battery negative and the other end to the relay pin 85. Finally, the 12 volt key on wire was right next to the fuel pump relay so I tapped into that to hook up to pin 86. It works wonderfully and I soldered all connections. My question is, how reliable are relays that we buy from parts stores or Radio Shack because compared to the factory fuel pump relay under the MAF meter (on my 92 model Fox), it looks really small. Would this mod cause any problems in the near future? Thanks in advance for all your responses.
