Default I need help with building a 342 stroker

I have been wanting to stroke out my mustang 5.0 into a 342 stroker. i was wondering if i would be able to stroke it out with out boring it out? I would appreciate any advice. thank you

im almost positve you have to bore it out and do you mean a 347 stroker?? ive never heard of a 342

I'm not 100% on this. But I believe you can just use the stroker crank and rods without the 4.030 Pistons.

347 = 3.4" Stroke / 4.030 Bore
342 = 3.4" Stroke / 4.000 Bore (Stock Bore)

Agreed.
You should be good if your block is new. Mic the cylinders and see if it needs to be bored. Many companies sell 342 short/long blocks. They just use new blocks.

Only way to know if the cylinders have to be overbored is to mic them at different points in each cylinder. If you have a desire to not do an overbore but your block requires one, get another (or new) block and mic again, and another, etc. until you find one that will require nothing but a finish hone (to match the rings that will be used).
